This article demonstrates how important playing is for a child. A newborn baby has an astonishing two billion brain cells. The large majority of the brain growth occurs in the first five years of a childs life. Playing builds much needed neuronal connections that will increase memory, learning and emotional stimulation. An experiment was done on rats, play therapy reduced hyper activity and high energy levels. Giving a child freedom that comes with play enables the child to make a bad choice and learn how to improve their future choices. Adult supervisors can make extreme life lessons of these moments and assist in teaching the child to understand. Play time 30 minutes before bed can decrease sleep problems and further eliminate adult depression. Creative playing such as make believe and exploring will make a childs imagination improve.
